Colour is currently a Boston- based band that originated in Modesto, California four years ago. The band is currently made up of Melissa Woodall (lead vox, acoustic, keys), Logan Coats (electric guitar, organ) & Kristopher Luis (bass guitar), has had the privilege of working with several drummers over the past two years and is currently working with Tommy Perkinson (Nashville- based drummer who most recently tours with Over the Rhine) on our highly anticipated, fully fan-backed third record due this coming fall. Colour has managed to stay together despite geographical changes after touring the west coast consistently for two years following the well- received release of our 2008 record The Grey EP and our 2009 record Deep Oceans & Blue Skies.

For the past year and a half we have been putting together an album that we believe includes some of the most honest and raw material we’ve written to date and is musically representative of some of our deepest roots as musicians, re-visiting Americana roots while still maintaining that unique combination of folk rock and piano tunes that make up our unique sound.

This album is about struggle in the deepest and darkest parts of our lives and coming out new on the other end. It is about a fight for survival, for growth, for true relationship, meaning and seeing beyond yourself. It reflects Colour’s goal as a band, which is more than just creating something cool and unique to listen to. We make music in an effort to relate, empathize and encourage others in ways that sometimes only music has the power to communicate.

Some of our biggest inspirations include Wilco, Frightened Rabbit, Laura Veirs, Radiohead, Josh Ritter, Over the Rhine & Bob Dylan.

We believe in letting people into our lives and sharing what we’ve learned along the way, and we invite you to join the journey with us.

Cheers!
